To teach any character trait:
SELF-AFFIRMATIONS
On separate cards, write positive statements about yourself
already having the character trait you are concentrating on developing. Read
them aloud each morning on waking up, and each evening before going to bed.
Examples:
I am showing more initiative
each day. When something important
needs to be done during the day, I do it without delay.
I make it a regular practice
to show appreciation to people for what they do for me and how they add positive
things to my life.
As a family, share self-affirmations and commit to supporting each other's
success.
